Mayoral Appointments

Participation image

Thank you for your interest in serving the City of Waterloo through participation on one of our boards, committees or commissions.

Opportunities on Boards and/or Commissions:

The basis of any democratic government is its citizens. In the United States, the essence of democracy is embodied in the Constitution, which begins, “We the People...” This wording establishes democracy as not only a right, but also a responsibility, and establishes the foundation for citizen involvement in governance.

The Mayor is, by ordinance or statute, tasked with appointing citizens to serve on boards and commissions. See appointment opportunities above for a list of boards and commissions, including vacancies.

Take The Next Step

If you would like to submit your name for consideration for a Mayoral appointment, please submit the following information to the Clerk/Treasurer's office or via the municipal website contact form.

  1. Name
  2. Address
  3. Phone and Email
  4. General Area of Interest

Please note, submission for consideration does not guarantee an appointment. Potential appointees will be considered as vacancies arise.

Although we encourage you to indicate your interests or particular boards you are interested in serving on, you may be considered for boards or commissions other than those you may have mentioned.

Being appointed to a board or commission is a public process. Please be aware that most appointments are subject to Common Council confirmation. By submitting information, you acknowledge that such action will result in the creation of a public record, subject to Open Records requests under Wisconsin State Statute § 19.31-39.
