Trash & Recycling Services

Trash is picked up weekly in Waterloo on Thursdays by LRS . Recycling every other week. If a holiday occurs between Monday and Friday, trash pick-up will be on Friday. Trash and recycling containers are to be at the curb by 6:00 am. There should be at least 3 foot clearance between the container and obstacles such as bushes or buildings.

If a holiday falls within the week, trash and recycling pick-up will be delayed until Friday. Holidays include Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day.

Bulky Item and E-Waste Service

LRS will provide a bulk item pick-up service weekly. Each home is allowed ONE bulk item (manageable by one person) or two tires off the rim per week. If the item is an electronic or appliance, please call in or email to schedule the pick-up at no additional charge. For any other bulk items, please be sure that you have it out by 6 am on the designated trash day. Email or call 1-608-580-0580 to schedule your appliance or electronic pick-up.

    Container Options

    Each residence will receive (1) wheeled 95-gallon container for solid waste and one (1) for recyclables by default. Residents will have an option to select 65-gallon containers instead, at the onset of service.  Those seeking more than the default 95-gallon service may request an additional set, resulting in an additional monthly service charge.

    Commercial Containers

    The contractor agrees to provide commercial containers for use within the City in substitution for residential curbside collection at a discounted rate.
